£80 For First Child - £75 thereafter for full blocl
Each of our sessions run from 10am to 2pm, meeting at Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre unless otherwise indicated. These sessions are taught at the Centre on the all-weather track, or on roller skis or rollerblades. Helmets, gloves and eye protection must be worn when using roller skis or blades and you should bring your own cycle helmet, if possible, for these sessions. Your own blades, if you have them, would also be helpful.
When we have snow the session will be taught on snow using our trails in the Clashindarroch Forest. On these occasions squad members will need to bring their lunch, parents will need to transport them to the Forest after kit issue at the Centre, and collect them from the Forest at 2.30pm.
The sessions will be taught by qualified BASI Instructors/Snowsport Scotland Coaches, mostly from Huntly Nordic Ski Club. The Squad also benefits greatly from the generous voluntary efforts of many parents and members of the Huntly Nordic Ski Club in coaching and equipment provision, and forest ski track preparation and reporting.
For those who are new to the Squad, we aim to improve your skills in the Skating and Classic ski techniques week by week. You will be taught in small groups, and will work towards gaining one of our skills awards at the end of the year. In amongst this we will be doing some ski touring, playing games and hopefully have lots of fun
